Cooler Master; one of the leading brands in PC chasis, power supplies and CPU coolers, is now venturing into the PC gaming peripherals, hence creating a new brand; CM Storm.

Today we will be reviewing one of CM Storm’s gaming mouse, the Spawn. But will this gaming mouse be a worthy product for hardcore gamers? Let’s find out.

From the first look at the package box of the CM Storm Spawn, you can flip open the front side to reveal the product, at the back panel you can see the specifications of the product to give you an idea on what are buying. As for the contents, you’ll have the gaming mouse itself, a user’s manual and also a CD for the drivers/software (although the package that I receive doesn’t include a CD, but I heard that some include a CD in the package).

For the design, at a first glance of the CM Storm Spawn, you’ll know that Cooler Master is really serious to this business. The gaming mouse has a claw-handling design that ensures your hand is fully gripped to the gaming mouse, on the right portion you can rest your ring finger as well as your pinky finger; which is a plus for comfort in the product, it also has a rubberized grip on both sides which are slip resistant, where you can lift out the mouse in full control while in an intense game session. sadly, the design of the gaming mouse is meant only for right-handed gamers. You still have the two mouse buttons on top and the mouse scroll in the middle as well as two additional buttons in the middle for the DPI controls, there are two buttons on the left portion of the mouse that works as forward and back for internet browsers and you can configure the two buttons to your liking for games and other applications (which requires the Profile Manager software).

It also has an Anti-drift Control Sensor where it will ensures stability on your pointer even if you lift your mouse, the Japanese-made mouse scroll wheel has a precise stepping encode that allows players to navigate small distances with great control and precision. It also has an onboard Sentinel-X microprocessor that can save settings, button configuration and macros even if you connect the mouse to a different computer, the CM Spawn can withstand up to five million clicks on the mouse buttons thanks to the Omron micro-switch technology to ensure a durable gaming mouse. You will also be able to switch the DPI settings on the go from 800, 1800 and 3500 with the DPI control buttons placed below the scroll wheel.

I was able to test the gaming mouse in some games from MMORPGs to FPS and even RTS . I tried testing on Call of Duty: Black Ops and the CM Spawn was really impressive, the accuracy is really good, and with the changeable DPI settings, you’ll be able to get that perfect aim to your targets. For MMORPGs, I tried Eden Eternal, with the prolonged hours of playing, the mouse is still comfortable to use. For RTS games such as Starcraft 2, I have no problem using the mouse as it provides the best precision, and with the unique claw-design of the CM Strom Spawn, you have better grip on your gaming mouse to ensure full control on your game.

If you are looking for a great gaming mouse, the CM Storm Spawn is sure pick for this one, it is very accurate and comfortable; which are the important factors for gamers when picking a good gaming mouse. And with a Profile Manager that lets you configure buttons and set macros, you’ll have total control on your game. The CM Storm Spawn is available for a retail price of PhP 1,500.
