News from Blizzcon 2011

A lot of surprises were announced at the recent Blizzcon at the Anaheim Convention Center, Anaheim, California where Blizzard fans gathered in an annual event.

These surprises involves updates on Blizzard’s upcoming games and also on their current ones. So let’s take a rundown on the announcements:

Diablo III will be free for World of Warcraft Annual Pass subscribers and the Ultimate Edition package

Blizzard announced that World of Warcraft Annual Pass subscribers will be able to download Diablo III for free, the Annual Pass can also be paid in a monthly basis, and subscribers will be able to get a beta pass for the new World of Warcraft expansion as well as getting the Tyrael’s Charger mount for free. A new trailer was also premiered at Blizzcon.

 

 

It was also revealed that there will be an Ultimate Edition for Diablo III. The package includes the game cd (as well as digital copies of the first two games),  behind the scenes DVD, soundtrack, the art of Diablo III book, exclusive in-game content and even a Diablo skull and a 4 gb Soulstone, no details for the price of the package were mentioned.

 

 

 

World of Warcraft’s newest expansion

Another anticipated game is the newest expansion for the most popular MMORPG; entitled World of Warcraft: Mists of Pandaria where the Pandarens are the newest race along with the new Monk class, also the level cap was increased to 90 and with new maps and dungeons.

 

 

 

Starcraft II: Heart of the Swarm trailer

Blizzard has finally revealed the preview trailer of Starcraft II: Heart of the Swarm, the second to the 3-part game of Starcraft 2. The newest game will continue the storyline from the  Wings of Liberty game as well as new units for each race.

 

 

 

Blizzard DOTA

There were rumors that Blizzard will develop an MOBA (Multiplayer Online Battle Arena) game, and it turns out that it will look like this. Blizzard DOTA will pitted out some of the most memorable Blizzard characters from their franchise games. There is no detail on when the game will be released.
