Advanced Micro Devices (AMD) unveiled some of their latest products from their recent product launch last weekend at Kamayan restaurant, SM Megamall.

There were AMD-powered PCs on display for attendees to test out the latest processors and graphic cards, there were some hi-end games installed on the PCs, namely Call of Duty: Black Ops, Crysis 2, DiRT 3 and Devil May Cry 4.

All of the games can run smoothly on all of the PCs on display, even on the highest settings, what surprised me is while playing Crysis 2, while trying to access an internet browser, 2 games were still running; Devil May Cry 4 and DiRT 3, and the best part, there were no lags or any slow down especially with Crysis 2.

Now at the presentation, National Sales Manager Sonny Sy introduces the latest line of entry level AMD Radeon Graphic cards; the HD 6670, HD 6570 and the HD 6450. Three of these graphic cards are DirectX 11 supported.  They also support the AMD Eyefinity feature; a multi-display technology where you can use up to 3-6 HD monitor, aside from the Eyefinity, also supported is the App Acceleration where it can improve your applications such as games, videos and other programs at maximum speed even if multiple programs are running.

Sales Development Manager Ronel Pelovello introduced the Accelerated Processing Unit (APU), which is a hybrid of the Central Processing Unit (CPU) and the Graphics Prpcessing Unit (GPU), with combining the two, this significantly reduces the power usage of the unit. The APU will also feature the App Acceleration and the “Allday” power function for laptops.

The AMD APU will also have the following features:

  • Switchable graphics
  • Dual graphics
  • Steady video
  • HD3D Technology
  • AMD Turbocore V2.0
  • 2nd Gen SATA 3.0
  • Native Support for USB 3.0
  • Perfect Picture HD
There is also a raffle for the attendees where they can land free graphic cards and processors, I was one of the lucky fellows to get the processors.
AMD is definitely wants to bring the fastest and most powerful PC experience to the consumers with their newest line of PC products.
