New Tekken Tag Tournament 2 has a Special Stage for Pinoy Fans

Namco Bandai‘s latest Tekken game is already out in the arcade for quite some time now, and they are also preparing a console release of Tekken Tag Tournament 2 for the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 this September. Of course there will be additional characters and stages that also includes Snoop Dogg’s stage.

But there is one certain stage that will definitely make the Pinoy fans of the Tekken series to play. If you take a peek at the video where Forest Law was introduced (that part starts at 1:03), you’ll notice a familiar scene, the location seems similar that in Manila, especially somewhere at Roxas Blvd. But wait, there’s more!

I’ve managed to take some screenshots of the video. At the first pic, you’ll notice one billboard showing a familiar logo, and yep that’s the Timezone logo; a popular amusement/arcade center in the Philippines. Timezone usually holds Tekken tournaments and majority of their customers are Tekken players (and Street Fighter gamers of course).

Another picture shows a second billboard, while at first it’s difficult to identify the logo due to the fast transition of the video on that part.

Still not familiar? let’s try a different angle….

It may be a bit blurry, but if you combine the letters from the first pic to this one, you can now spell out Quantum, yes that’s the logo of Quantum Amusement; another popular amusement center in the Philippines. If the logo looks unfamiliar to you, that’s because Quantum just released a new logo for their amusement centers. Another trivia with the logo is that the person behind the new design was from Syeri Baet; the creator of Carpool comics.

And here’s another cool scene was found at the new stage, if you read the text at the billboard wreckage, you’ll see the words “Delicious Inasal”, of course Inasal is a Filipino delicacy (which is a grilled chicken dish), the caption at the upper reads “Isang kagat at ikaw ay nawiwili!” which means “One bite and you’ll get hooked!”

It seems that Katsuhiro Harada made a special stage as some sort of recognition or maybe a way of saying thank you to the Tekken fans in the Philippines, the fans here will definitely be happy once they can try the newest stage.

*UPDATE*

The Official Facebook page of Tekken just uploaded a picture of the Philippines stage; entitled as Coastline Sunset. Here you can see the two logos clearly now along with a broken down jeepney.

Tekken Tag Tournament 2 is already out in the arcades and the console version will be available on September 11, 2012.
