The sequel to the fan favorite Gundam Extreme Versus is finally getting its console port, Gundam Extreme Vs Full Boost will be available on the PlayStation 3 in Japan on January 30, 2014.
Originally released in the arcades last 2012, Gundam Extreme Vs Full Boost boasts a whopping 90+ playable units; the largest roster ever in the franchise with 20 of them exclusive to the PlayStation 3 version. These include series such as New Mobile Report Gundam Wing, Mobile Suit Gundam SEED Stargazer, Mobile Suit Gundam Unicorn and the Gundam EXA Manga series, there will DLC units that will be available on the release date.
Full Boost will have 30 original tracks from the arcade version which includes some of the opening songs from the Gundam anime series.
The game will still feature the original 2 on 2 gameplay from the original, it will still have the Arcade mode that lets you pick any route you want to progress, you can play this mode alone or with a friend. It will also feature the new Boss Rush mode where you can pit against gigantic Mobile Armors, the other returning modes include the Free Battle, Online Battle and Mission mode. There will be free Mission DLCs that will be available in monthly intervals. An Online Pass is required to play online, if your purchased a used game, you can get an Online Pass for only 1000 Yen.
You can now customize your UI, player Navi (which appears at the main menu and battle results) and even your pilot’s costume, these items are available as DLCs as well.
Gundam Extreme Vs Full Boost will be out on January 30, 2014 for a retail price of 7980 Yen both retail and digital version. An upgraded version called G Premium Sound Edition is also available for 10980 Yen (retail and digital) which features five additional soundtracks:
- Silent Voice from Mobile Suit Gundam ZZ
- Eternal Wind from Mobile Suit Gundam F91
- Stand Up to the Victory from Mobile Suit Gundam Victory
- Just Communication from Mobile Suit Gundam Wing
- You Resemble Me from Mobile Suit Gundam SEED Destiny
Those who purchased the first release of Full Boost will get a free Ex-S Gundam DLC code that is only exclusive to the PlayStation 3.
A limited edition arcade controller is also available with a 16,800 Yen price tag, the button layout will be the same with the arcade version.
