Overall, we are very impressed with the image quality of the 242G5. It offers a large option of display connections plus the USB 3.0 hub was a great addition. With the Smart remote providing easier access to display presets, the 144Hz refresh rate is one of its biggest feature, but you have to take note if your graphic card can support 144Hz, but regardless if your card does not support it, the incredible image quality of the monitor will not disappoint you.

What also surprised us is that the 242G5 can compete against IPS panel monitors where the 242G5 is purely an LCD monitor. Some may have a different reaction on the high price tag of the gaming monitor, but as some may say, higher price means better quality.

In short, if you are looking for a great gaming monitor and can add a few more bucks on your budget, the Philips 242G5 gaming monitor will not disappoint you.
