Sadly the 3DS XL (LL in Japan) will be ceasing production in Japan.

It was revealed that Nintendo will be stopping their production of 3DS LL next year, which was confirmed from their 3DS LL website that they will discontinue the 7 3DS LL color variants that are available in Japan.

This is to give way for their New 3DS LL model that is already available in Japan since October, and next year in North America, the New 3DS LL sold more than 234,000 in Japan since its launch.

It is still unclear whether the 3DS XL will also halt its production in other regions
