The long planned movie adaptation of one of the gaming industry’s most popular franchises will be released at a later date.
Moved from its original release date which was December 2015, WarCraft, the film adaptation of Blizzard’s WarCraft game franchise will now have its new release date set to June 2016. This is due to prevent clashing the movie against another big movie title coming out later this year, Star Wars: The Force Awakens. Originally though, Legendary, the production firm behind WarCraft has set their release date on March 2016, but had to move knowing DC is going to release Batman vs. Superman: Dawn of Justice on the same month.
2016 looks to be a good year for movies, as not just the much anticipated movie adaptation of the WarCraft Universe will be out, but other titles such as Now You See Me 2, and Uncharted, the film adaptation of the game franchise of the same name, will be coming out as well. WarCraft the movie is said to be based on the WarCraft I game timeline focusing on the beginnings of the Human-and-Orc conflict, and will feature iconic characters in the WarCraft universe such as Durotan and Anduin Lothar.
