MMO and Mobile game publisher PlayPark had their major gaming event in a whole different location.

Last November 14, PlayPark held their big event at the Ynares Sports Arena for their PlayPark XP. Tons of giveaways were handed from door prizes and early bird rewards, there are even players who camped out outside the venue a day before just to land on the spot for the Early Bird prizes. There were also interactive booths for PlayPark gamers to try out some of the latest games handled by the gaming publisher, these activities include mini games or simple meet and greet with some of PlayPark’s Game Masters and Community Managers.

Games like Blizzard’s Heroes of the Storm, Sega’s Phantasy Star Online 2, Assault Fire and their new Special Force 2 game were present, even some of the classic Level Up! titles such as Dance Battle Audition and Perfect World had their game tournaments, let’s not forget the new mobile games that were handled by PlayPark. There were also booths from sponsors such as Acer, Bloddy Gaming, GameX and PLDT showcasing their newest and latest products and services.

Aside from the booth attraction, PlayPark XP has a lot of stage activities such as sponsor segments, cosplay competition and musical performances from Zendee, Manila Under Fire, Fifth Dynamics, and Tanya Markova that kept the crowd cheering for more.

One of the major highlights in the event was the Special Force 2 tournament, more than 30 teams have registered for a chance to become the champion of the first ever Special Force 2 tournament. We heard that the tournament lasted until midnight due to the large number of team participating. And in the end, Imperium Pro Team become the champion of the tournament and brought home PhP 50,000.

Though we still have mixed feelings on the idea of having a game convention inside a commercial sports stadium as there are some factors that made the event lacked an impact and made it look smaller, hopefully if PlayPark wants to use a commercial sports stadium as their regular venue, they need to make a different plan on their activities and event focus. After all, any venue has it fair share of advantages if done right.

We would like to congratulate PlayPark for having another gaming event for their loyal gamers and for adding Reimaru Files as one of their media partners, you can check out the rest of the photos from the event by heading to our Facebook page.
