Gundam UC will be getting an Anime TV Series

At an unexpected take, Bandai and Sunrise will be relaunching Gundam UC as an anime TV series.

It has been revealed that the Gundam UC video anime will be getting a TV series release in Japan, this was according to Anime News Network where the said series will be titled as Mobile Suit Gundam Unicorn RE:0096 and it is scheduled to air on Sundays at 7:00AM starting April 3, it will be aired on TV Asahi and other affiliated networks. The series will last for two quarters of the year (6 months); possibly at a span of 24-25 episodes.

The OVA will be edited into 20-minute episodes and will feature some new footage as well as new opening from Tielle with “Into The Sky” and ending theme song from naNami with “Next 2U -eUC-” while the second ending song will be performed by Aimer with “bL∞dy f8 -eUC-.”, all singers are under the vocal project of Hiryoyuki Sawano (also the series composer). Next episode previews will be narrated by Shuuichi Ikeda (who voiced as Full Frontal and known as the voice of Char Aznable).

Mobile Suit Gundam UC was based on the novel series of the same name which was turned into a 7-episode video anime series released in 2010 to 2014 for home video and select theaters. It follows the Universal Century timeline and is set on UC 0096, 16 years after the events of the original Mobile Suit Gundam anime series.
