Godzilla is getting an Anime Movie treatment

The world’s most popular kaiju Gojira, better known in the west as Godzilla, is slated for an Anime Movie treatment coming out sometime next year. The Toho owned king of monsters, who has already received numerous adaptations ever since its 1954 debut will find itself on the movie spotlight after the recent box office success of Godzilla Resurgence.

The still untitled Anime adaptation of Godzilla will be directed by Kobun Shizuno, who has known to direct numerous Detective Conan films, and will be written by Gen Urobuchi, writer of Light Novel adaptations for Fate/Zero, Black Lagoon and Puella Magi Madoka Magica animated films.

The upcoming Godzilla anime movie is set for release sometime this coming 2017 and will be developed together with Polygon Studios, well known for their animation works on the Dead or Alive video game series, and Ghost in the Shells’ Innocence animated fillm.
