In the name of the Tsar!

This year’s E3 2017 is going full swing with the kick-off press conference from Electronic Arts marking the start of Day 1 for the biggest annual video game showcase of the globe. Although they might not have a lot in hand when it comes to new announcements, EA is still unveiling something new, and arguably massive, when it comes to their existing titles, startin with the hit FPS Battlefield 1 which will be getting new content by form of the Russian World War I campaign titled “In the name of the Tsar”.

Calling it the “most extensive” Battlefield 1 update to date, In the name of the Tsar will focus on the Eastern Front of World War I and will include ew maps, units, weapons, and vehicles and as well as a new game mode.

Iconic military squadrons and units such as the horse-riding, spear-wielding Hussars will be part of the upcoming Russian themed update, and as well as the Women’s Battalion of Death.

A total of 6 new multiplayer maps will also be included in the update, with a good chunk of them covered in snow, namely Lupkow Pass, Albion, Galicia, Brusilov Keep, plus 2 that are yet to be revealed, with the new game mode: Supply Drop.

Apart from the In the name of the Tsar update, Battlefield 1 will also be receiving new content updates starting this July, with 2 new night maps – Nivelle, and Prise de Tahure – to be made available to Battlefield Premium Pass and They Shall Not Pass DLC owners. Non-premium pass owners need not worry regarding the map access though, for EA also plans to run a limited Premium Trial wherein all players can get to access the new night maps for a certain period of time.

Battlefield 1 is EA’s most recent addition to the Battlefield video game franchise, developed together with EA DICE and was released October of last year for the PC, Xbox One and PS4 platforms.
