Ubisoft announced that Team Empire, the number one seed of the European region, won the Championship title of the Rainbow Six Pro League Season IX after the two-day Finals that concluded an epic season of esport for Rainbow Six in Milan on Sunday May 19.

Without long-time Pro League favorites G2 esports at the table, Rainbow Six Pro League Season IX Quarter Finals had an exciting new landscape for the eight qualifying teams that faced each other in Milan this weekend. Every team put up a good fight, with the first day of competition ending with a 2-0 score across all Quarter Final matches. This lead to the first time in Pro League history that one team from each of the four Pro League regions – Europe, North America, Latin America and Asia-Pacific – qualified for the Semi-Finals.

In the first Semi-Finals, the runner-up of the Six Invitational Team Empire proved its superiority against Fnatic despite the Australian team taking the second map, closing the match in a dominant fashion (7-4 / 3-7 / 7-0). With this victory, the Russian team moved a step closer to the Pro League Champion title where they were to square off against Evil Geniuses. Evil Geniuses qualified during the second Semi-Finals after a tense back and forth against LATAM’s FaZe Clan (7-5 / 8-6). Despite a hard fight from the North-Americans and a second map particularly disputed on Oregon, JoyStiCK and his teammates won the match (Bank 7-4 / Oregon 6-8 / Clubhouse 7-3) and the overall Season IX Rainbow Six Pro League Finals.

After their defeat against G2 esports during the Six Invitational 2019 Grand Final, Team Empire finally claimed a Rainbow Six esport Grand Final crown and is now officially the Rainbow Six Season IX Pro League Champion.

After epic Pro League Season IX Finals in Milan and the recent reveal of the Six Major Raleigh bringing Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six esport frenzy to North Carolina this summer, Ubisoft announced during Milan’s panel that next season’s Pro League Finals will be coming to Tokoname, Japan on November 9-10, 2019 at the brand new venue Aichi Sky Expo. Hosted for the first time ever in the Asia-Pacific region, the Tokoname Pro League Finals will gather the best pro teams in Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six Pro League Season X, with two teams from each of the four regions represented: Asia-Pacific, Europe, Latin America, and North America.
