What year is it?
Together with competing with everyone else in developing and releasing the next generation of motherboards to accommodate the brewing demand for new generation hardware, BIOSTAR has decided that amidst the heated next-gen wars, it’s also time to do a quick throwback with the announced reboot of their H61 Chipset Motherboard line with the BIOSTAR H61MHV2.
Built to refresh support for the 2nd and 3rd generation of Intel Processors, the BIOSTAR H61MHV2 will accommodate Intel CPUs under the LGA 1155 socket family, from the Celeron to its i7 variant. Specs-wise there really isn’t a lot to expect with the memory support only sitting at up to DDR3 1600 Mhz via its two DIMM slots, a single PCIe 3.0 x16 slot, and a couple of USB 2.0 ports (a total of 8 to be exact) plus the VGA and HDMI display ports. As to why the reboot was decided, BIOSTAR states that it is due to “popular demand and the availability of supporting components” with the reboot launch catered more towards those who are looking for decent PC upgrades for workloads that don’t require that much power.
