Sucker Punch Productions has announced that Ghost of Tsushima will be getting a Director’s Cut release for the PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 on August 20, 2021.
The Director’s Cut will feature many enhancements for the PlayStation 5, which includes
- 4K Resolution options
- 60 FPS performance
- 3D Audio
- Japanese lip sync
- Haptic Feedback function
- Adaptive Trigger feature
Aside from enhancements, there will be new content available including for the PlayStation 4 version and this is the most awaited expansion DLC featuring the Iki island. It features a new story chapter and characters as well as a whole new environment to explore that will have of course new gear to collect, new techniques to learn and new enemies to defeat.
You can access the Iki island expansion in the Director’s Cut in Act 2 from the game once you’ve reached the Toyotama region.
While fans wait for the release of the Director’s Cut, there will be patch updates to add some improvements to the base game, including for the Legends co-op multiplayer DLC. You will be able to transfer your save data from your PS4 to the PS5 version to continue with your progress.
The physical version of Ghost of Tsushima Director’s Cut is priced at PHP 3,490 (SGD 97.90) on PS5 and PHP 2,990 (SGD 79.90) on PS4. You can opt to preorder for a digital version before launch and you’ll be able to play the PS4 of Ghost of Tsushima while you wait for the Director’s Cut version to become available and continue your game progress.
If you already own a PS4 copy of Ghost of Tsushima, you can opt for a PS4 upgrade to Director’s Cut for SGD 26.90 and SGD 40.90 for the PS5 Director’s Cut upgrade. And in case you decided to upgrade your PS4 Director’s Cut to the PS5 version, it’ll cost your SGD 18.
