After weeks of intense and competitive action, Team Secret has been declared champion of the 2022 VALORANT Champions Tour Challengers – Philippines Stage 2 (VCT PH Stage 2)—outlasting seven other Filipino contenders including VCT PH Stage 1 champions South Built Esports, NAOS Esports, Action PH, Alpha Esports Pro, and Bren Esports.
As a result, Team Secret has now qualified for the Group Stage of the VCT Challengers APAC Stage 2 circuit where they will clash against the top VALORANT squads from the Asia-Pacific region. They will also be joined by 2nd placers Oasis Gaming. For finishing 3rd overall, Rex Regum Qeon has also advanced to the Play-In where they will get another shot to make a deep run in the regional tournament.
The VCT is the official tournament for VALORANT, supported and recognized by Riot Games. The VCT Challengers PH Stage 2 was organized by the Philippine Pro Gaming League (PPGL), the largest multi-game esports league in the country co-owned by pioneering esports company Mineski Global. The event was also presented by Globe Telecom and its Official Gaming Hardware Partner: ASUS Republic of Gamers (ROG). For this year’s run, the tournament paid out a total prize pool of USD $30,000.
“The VCT paves the way for many of our Filipino gamers to succeed on the local, regional, and global level. On this second run of the 2022 season, we are thrilled to once again witness the best that Philippine Esports has to offer and we are excited to see them test their mettle against the top teams from every corner of the globe. We are rooting for them to advance to the Group Stages of VCT APAC and potentially the VCT Masters in Copenhagen,” said Mark Navarro, Country Manager, Mineski Philippines.
You can catch the replays of the VCT PH Stage 2 on the official Twitch, YouTube, and Facebook channels of the PPGL, as well as the official Facebook page of VALORANT Esports Philippines.
The VCT Challengers APAC Stage 2 is scheduled from June 9 to 26. The winners will earn the distinction of representing the Asia-Pacific region at the global VCT Masters Stage 2 later in the year where they will compete against the best-of-the-best teams from around the world.
