The show is not here yet but the Gundams are starting to launch. It’s a great day for gunpla fans as after years of waiting we finally have a new set of mechs from a brand new Gundam universe. Shown through a series of reveals this week, Bandai finally flexes the new design of the mechs on the road to the show’s release. Mobile Suit Gundam: The Witch from Mercury is on a whole new universe or timeline called Ad Stella and will be the fifteenth addition to mainline shows following Iron Blooded Orphans.

The titular character is named Suletta Mercury, with the main Gundam being Gundam Aerial. The mecha design crew includes Ippei Gyobu, (Gundam Build Fighters, Iron Blooded Orphans, Darling in the Franxx), Kanetake Ebikawa (Eureka Seven, Gundam Build Fighters), Kenji Teraoka (Code Geass) and Takayuki Yanase (Gundam 00). The mech designs show obvious inspirations from the previous works of the designers, and the kits feature a chest piece with an in-mold design meaning that some designs are incorporated directly into the part and will not require any stickers. More infromation about the kits will be made available later this month but for now, let’s just enjoy Gundam in its newfound glory.
