Everyone’s favorite (and only?!) zombie paradise action game, Dead Rising Deluxe Remaster, hits store shelves in malls and more in Southeast Asia with a physical release starting on Friday, 8 November 2024 for PlayStation 5! Additionally, the game’s developers showcased an array of content from the remaster like quality-of-life improvements, new features to spruce up in-game photos, and deeper introductions to some of the characters.

Brought back to life with Capcom’s RE ENGINE, Dead Rising Deluxe Remaster is the definitive remaster of the classic Dead Rising game from 2006, with improved 4K resolution graphics and a 60 FPS frame rate. Zombie slayers can experience a fresh take on the zombie genre with incredible action, over-the-top combat, hordes of weapon choices, eccentric costumes, and a comedic yet compelling storyline. Digital versions of Dead Rising Deluxe Remaster launch on September 19, 2024 across Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5, and PC via Steam, with pre-orders available now!

Some of the additional details highlighted include:

Quality-of-Life Improvements: Improvements such as the ability to complete certain actions while talking on the transceiver and uninterrupted calls, even when being attacked, have been introduced.

Say Cheese!: Various photo filters like Black and White, Sepia, Vintage, Pixel Art, and more have been added to the game’s photo feature so players can flex their creative muscles as the best zombie-hunting photojournalist in the biz.

An All-Star Cast: Take a deeper look into some of the returning fan-favorite characters like the militaristic Brad Garrison, the new Department of Homeland Security agent Jessie McCarney, and the tight-lipped Russell Barnaby, plus some of the lovely Psychopaths like the Convicts, Steven Chapman, and Larry Chiang!

Survive 72 hours in hell! ’72HOUR MODE’

With communications and roads blocked off, Willamette feels like it’s under martial law. Sensing a big scoop, photojournalist Frank West dives into Willamette Parkview Mall, which has turned into a literal ‘hell’ due to a zombie outbreak. There are 72 hours left until rescue arrives. How will Frank survive?”

“72HOUR MODE’ is the main gameplay mode of this title. The objective is to survive 72 hours in the zombie-infested shopping mall from September 19 to September 22. Will you lock yourself in a safe place and wait for the time to pass? Or will you bravely take action to uncover the scoop, or rather, the truth behind the incident? How you spend the ticking seconds is entirely up to you, the player.

“Get the ‘scoop’!

Inside the zombie-infested shopping mall, trouble involving survivors and events leading to the truth behind the zombie panic, known as ‘scoops,’ is constantly unfolding. For the protagonist, Frank West, who visits the mall in search of breaking news, no ‘scoop’ can be missed. Deciding which scene to rush to and which ‘scoop’ to tackle first is crucial.

Information about scoops can be obtained via radio. In ‘Deluxe Remaster,’ you can now perform actions while on a radio call. Additionally, gameplay has been improved so that calls are not interrupted even when you are attacked.

Don’t miss your chance to snap the perfect shot!

Photojournalist Frank always has his camera in hand. In addition to numerous shooting points throughout the mall, make sure to capture any incidents or dramatic moments you encounter. The better the photos, the more ‘PP’ you’ll earn, which will be explained later.

Level up Frank with scoop resolutions and photo shoots! Survive with a range of skills and actions.

Solve various troubles and incidents, known as scoops, occurring in the mall, and earn ‘PP (Prestige Points)’ from taking photos. By acquiring PP, Frank levels up. As Frank levels up, his attack power, health, item stock, and other stats increase, and he acquires various skills. The controls have also been modernized to allow for a more intuitive use of these skills in this version.
