NetEase Games and Bad Guitar Studio proudly announce that the highly anticipated 5v5 free-to-play hero shooter, FragPunk, is now available worldwide. Combining frenetic tactical combat with rule-breaking twists, the game introduces a groundbreaking Shard Card system that lets players rewrite the rules of battle. FragPunk is available on Steam and Epic Games Store now and will be coming to Xbox Series X/S and PlayStation 5 soon. Right now, players can jump into Season 1 live across the world, with all Shard Cards free to play from launch and beyond. The team has also announced a worldwide Shard Card design contest, which offers players the chance to showcase their creativity.
The first season of FragPunk called Wild Dawn will last for 4 months and is divided into 2 chapters, each lasting 2 months. Starting with 13 Unique Lancers, over 150 Shard Cards, 7 Shard Clash Maps and dozens of competitive or chaotic game modes. Furthermore, new Lancers and Shard Cards are promised for the beginning of every new chapter, with potential for exciting new game modes to be included, and for each new season, a brand-new map will be added to enhance players’ gaming experience.
Free Bonuses and Life-time Battle Passes Giveaway Event to Celebrate Launch!
In celebration of the global launch, FragPunk is also offering generous free launch bonuses, including a collection of Blue-and-White Porcelain skins for all 20 of your weapons inspired by ancient decorative traditions, as well as in-game currency, sticker packs, and charms. In addition, FragPunk has announced it will give away a total of 1000 free lifetime Battle Passes for free in various launch celebration events, winners can enjoy a never-expired Premium Battle Pass. Chaotic New Shard Cards Unveiled!
There will be over 150 Shard Cards for players to break the rules of the battlefield in FragPunk’s launch version, and over 80 cards were never shown in previous tests. FragPunk has revealed several fascinating Shard Card together with leading FPS influencers, including TenZ, Shroud, iiTzTimmy and so on.

Leader of the Dead – Spend your own HP to generate a bio-warrior.
Introducing New Lancer: Chum
FragPunk features 13 diverse Lancers for the first season, each with unique skills, personalities and outrageous dialogue to suit your preference. To mark the launch of Season 1, a brand-new lancer will also be introduced to the roster.
Meet Chum, a sentient, stone-carved robot with a unique fascination for organic life, particularly fish. Accompanied by his best friend, Chomper, a stone fish he crafted himself, Chum disrupts enemy formations by transforming Chomper into explosives or smoke bombs, bringing a whole new dynamic to the battlefield.
Introducing New map: Dongtian
Maps in FragPunk are designed to immerse players in a vibrant multiverse, offering a diverse array of environments to explore. There are 10+ maps in total in the game at launch, among which 7 are maps for the Shard Clash mode (the main competitive game mode). This includes a brand-new map Dongtian, a battleground set within a floating mountain palace. Inspired by oriental landscapes and architectures, Dongtian features magnificent sky-rocketing sculptures, breathtaking natural scenery and special mechanics that could change the structure of the map to create extra challenges for the players.
Shard Card Design Contest
To further celebrate the launch of FragPunk, an ambitious user-generated content initiative has also been launched called “FragPunk Card War: Craft Your Signature Card!” Players worldwide are invited to utilize their creativity and design their own Shard Cards, the best of which have a chance of actually being added to the game. The program is active from March 7 to June 7, 2025, during which time participants can develop and submit their designs. Submissions will undergo a collaborative evaluation process involving both the FragPunk development team and the player community, with winners determined through community voting.
The top five designers will not only receive a $2,025 (USD) cash prize but also the opportunity to have their idea made into an actual customized card within the game, featuring their very own signature.
