It is a sad day for the players of Tantra PH, as one of the longest running MMORPG in the country announces that they will be shutting down their servers on September 1, 2011.

Dragona PH Pre-Beta Test
Upcoming MMORPG Dragona PH has finally scheduled their Pre-Beta Test. Their CBT will begin on July 28 and will end on August 17, All characters (Gunner, Sniper, Guardian, Assassin, Ranger, Magician, Shaman, and Scout) will be available in the CBT with a level cap of 40. There will be no IP blocks for Dragona PH; meaning any player from around the globe can access the game without any restrictions.
In-game events for the Pre-Beta Test were already prepared for the players:
- The Bug Hunt - Open to all Pre-beta participants. An event that focuses on finding bugs/glitches on all UI, game functions, features, etc…
- Champions of Bartan – Top 10 players (per server) at the end of the Pre-beta phase.
- The Amazing Race – First 100 players to reach Level 35.
- An Epic Voyage – The player who has achieved the highest level at the end of the Pre-beta phase wins. 1 winner per server. If 2 more or more players have the same level, winner will be based on the EXP gained, then PVP Points (points).

All of the accounts that were registered will be their permanent accounts for the beta test and the upcoming future phases, download links and mirrors of the game client will available in the coming days.

Forsaken World PH Interview
Cubinet Philippines has concluded the Close Beta Test for their newest MMORPG Forsaken World. While they are preparing for the launch of the Open Beta Test, we managed to have a chat with Brand Manager Kail Fajardo to talk about Forsaken World and its upcoming plans for the game.

The newest browser based MMORPG Grand Epic Online by Runup Games has recently launch its Open Beta Phase last June 15. The game will offer features such as quest auto-navigation, pet raising, mounting system, polymorphic transformation and many more.

Two MMOs in Korea Shutting Down
NCsoft Korea just recently announced that two of their MMOs; namely the side-scroller MMORPG Dragonica and the Online FPS Point Blank.
Both games will cease their service on the 13th of July. The closure of Dragonica is possibly connected with Barunson Interactive, the developers of Dragonica being purchased by Gravity Games, it is possible that Gravity will take over the publishing rights and will continue the game service.
While on the Point Blank MMOFPS side, there is still no news on who will take over the publishing rights in Korea, NCsoft also handles the Point Blank games in South and Central America.
Coincidentally, E-Games recently just launch the Open Beta Phase of Point Blank in the Philippines, and also handles the Philippine server of Dragonica.
We are still unsure if the closure in Korea will also affect the game services in the Philippines as NCsoft was only the publisher for the two games in Korea.

Ragnarok Online; the longest running MMORPG in the Philippines; which is published by Level Up! Games, just held their annual Ragnarok World Championship Philippine Leg Finals at the Skydome, SM North EDSA last June 11, 2011.
